Fall book study at St. Paul's, San Rafael

Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

On the first Tuesdays of September, October, and November, Walter Tanner and The Rev. Christopher Martin will be hosting a book study of The Politics of Virtue: Post-Liberalism and the Human Future. This book, by John Milbank and Adrian Pabst, is a Christian critique of this moment of crisis. It names four facets of what it calls the “metacrisis of liberalism”: capitalism, democracy, culture, and the nations. For each, it then proposes alternatives that come from a radically Christian orthodox position. Conversations will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be preceded by Evening Prayer at 6:30 p.m. and followed by relaxed hospitality. Sessions are likely to have the feel of a graduate school seminar.
