Opera to benefit homeless ministry at St. John the Evangelist, San Francisco

Friday, April 28, 2017, 8:00 pm to Saturday, April 29, 2017, 8:00 pm

Opera on Tap and Symphonia Caritas present Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito — about jealousy, betrayal, and, ultimately, forgiveness. Sung in Italian, the story will be told in English by Publio, a member of the Imperial Roman Guard, who witnesses firsthand the struggle for power and the power of mercy. Proceeds of this joint production will go to support the Gubbio Project, an organization which seeks to be in community with and to provide a sacred space and sanctuary for unhoused people in need of safe, compassionate respite during the day. An average of 300+ unhoused neighbors seek safety and rest on the pews in the sanctuaries of St. John the Evangelist and St. Boniface Catholic Church each weekday.

When: Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 8 p.m.
Cost: $25 (All sales are final)
