School Overview
Ventana School is a church-run child development program presently serving children age 2 to 6. We are seeking a Program Director for the preschool, kindergarten and extended hour’s program. This is a 12 month position, 40 hours per week. The program incorporates Reggio Emilia practices into the curriculum serving approximately 60 children.
Ventana is a ministry of Christ Episcopal Church, Los Altos California, reflecting a deep commitment to children and its mission to nurture the minds and hearts of children and families, and to encourage a passion for life-long learning.
We offer staff members a nurturing, respectful, and caring work environment which supports a child-directed learning environment based on the Reggio Emilia approach.
At the present time, Ventana’s curriculum ranges from “2’s” programs through Kindergarten. Our desired candidate will help the Church strategize and plan for future growth.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, the Program Director is responsible for the management of the day to day operations of Ventana School, providing leadership to faculty, working closely with church staff, and upholding the mission, values and beliefs of both school and church.
Required qualifications include: B.A. from an accredited college or university and major course work in early childhood education, psychology or related field, at least 2-3 years experience in a leadership role in the field of early childhood education or closely related field, a valid California Directors Permit or ability to qualify.
