Should your congregation provide the option of online giving?

A lot of your parishioners are already paying their bills online. We do our banking online. We make donations to charities online. Why not make it just as convenient and secure for pledges and donations to come in through your church’s website?

Grace Cathedral began using Network for Good’s DonateNow at the beginning of 2011 for all online giving and recently recommended that the diocese look into them as well. DonateNow provides a web page that looks like your congregation’s website and it allows you to easily set up one-time giving campaigns or recurring gifts. No merchant account is required and each online donation has a 3% transaction fee. Donors are given the opportunity to pay that 3% fee in addition to their online donation and Network For Good has found that 80% of donors cover this for the nonprofits they donate to. You have control over your donor experience with:

•    Customized levels of giving
•    Recurring gifts
•    Program designations
•    Dedications
•    Custom questions
•    Thank you gifts
•    Membership options and tracking codes.

DonateNow offers your donors a seamless, secure, single step process to giving that blends seamlessly with your congregation’s website. They also provide an automatic response email for donor tax purposes.
The Diocese of California has just finished negotiating with Network for Good and they will provide a greatly reduced rate for DonateNow if twenty or more congregations choose to sign up for one year. Network for Good has agreed to waive the DonateNow set-up fee of $199.95 and will reduce the monthly fee from $49.95 to $39.95. That is an annual cost of $479.40. This offer is good through December 31, 2011.

Along with Donate Now, Network for Good is including EventsNow, an online event management tool that allows your congregation to provide online event registration (including fee management) for any event you choose at no additional cost. There is a 5.5% transaction fee + $.99 for each ticket. They are also including training and support at no cost.
Also, you get the Virtual Fundraising Partner at no cost. This is a $200 value and includes:

•    On-demand practical, actionable tips and proven strategies to successfully fundraise in the fourth quarter
•    Weekly email reminders of what to be working on
•    A step-by-step guide to create your year-end fundraising and marketing plan
•    Access to an exclusive live training webinar
•    Opportunities to have your year-end fundraising plan and one of your fundraising appeals reviewed by our team of experts
•    Plus, template fundraising appeals, website design examples, and more!

For an additional fee, Network for Good offers EmailNow (powered by Emma) for your congregation’s email campaigns. E-newsletters or stewardship campaigns can be fully integrated with DonateNow to help improve your congregation’s overall giving.
