Thousands of people cheered Bishop Christopher Senyonjo, Global Grand Marshal, as he led a contingent of Episcopalians from around the San Francisco Bay Area in Sunday’s Pride Parade.
The retired Anglican bishop was honored for his courageous advocacy for LGBT people in Uganda, a nation that is once again considering its infamous “death penalty for gays” legislation.
Before the parade, some 150 people gathered to hear Bishop Christopher preach at the 2012 Pride Eucharist where Lutheran bishop, the Rt. Rev. Mark W. Holmerud, and bishop’s assistant, the Rev. Nancy Feniuk Nelson, officiated.
