All are invited to a one-hour concert performed by Susan Jane Matthews, St. Paul’s Director of Music. The program includes four mesmerizing organ works of J. S. Bach on the 1489 pipes of the church’s 1929 Skinner organ: Toccata & Fugue in d minor, BWV 565; Trio Sonatas 3 and 4; Passacaglia, BWV 582.  The organ console, the two keyboards for hands and the pedals for the feet, will be projected on a screen. An “intermission” from Fanny Hensel’s Das Jahr (August, September) on St. Paul’s Steinway B offers reflection on the key role of the Mendelssohn family in the modern Bach revival. A reception will follow with a display of Susan’s bird photography, from the Hawaiian I’iwi to the Northern Parula.
