The Philadelphia 11 Screening

Description

The Philadelphia 11 Screening

Women on Wednesday or WOW, is going to the movies on September 18! St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Belvedere will be showing THE PHILADELPHIA 11 at its women’s group monthly gathering. This award winning film tells the compelling story of a group of gutsy women and their supporters who challenged expectations about who qualified to be priests. And, it’s all true … The year is 1974, and the place is Philadelphia, and the changes caused aftershocks around the world.

We’ll gather at 6 in Kimball Hall and start the show. Sandwiches will be on hand so we can watch and dine. Afterwards, we’ll debrief on our impressions, and hear about what was happening in our Diocese at that time.

As always, guests are more than welcome.

All are invited to do some homework beforehand by watching some of The Rev. Zoila Schoenbrun’s interviews with David Patterson on YouTube channel that were posted to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the ordination in Philadelphia.

Please RSVP to Karen at karennelsong@gmail.com by Monday, September 16.

St. Stephen’s has a parking lot conveniently located at the church.
