Description

End Slavery for Good: Youth Teach-in and Art Project for the MLK Weekend at Grace Cathedral

Youth aged 12-18 are invited to this special, free teach-in and art workshop led by Mural Arts Philadelphia, the nation’s largest public art program. Youth will learn about the national movement to remove the “slavery clause” of the 13th Amendment, a movement that leaders including our Presiding Bishop the Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry are championing. Participants will then work on either a banner to be displayed permanently at the cathedral or artwork to take to their home congregations. Lunch is included. Participants are encouraged to remain for pizza at 5 pm, following by the 6 pm service, where the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. will be honored. RSVPs are required and places are limited.
