2nd Annual Marcia McCowin Concert

Description

2nd Annual Marcia McCowin Concert

2nd Annual Marcia McCowin Concert
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Burlingame

Let your spirit soar in this one-hour concert of music by 20th- and 21st-century women composers and poets for chamber choir, violin, organ and piano. For the young at heart, a 10-minute slideshow of bird photography will be shown during a choral setting of Emily Dickinson’s “Hope is a thing with feathers,” the birds all symbols of hope in their wordless songs. The Annual Marcia McCowin concert arose from the visionary sparkle of Dr. Marcia McCowin (1952 – 2020), professor of clinical radiology at UCSF. In the last few months of her life, Marcia delighted in coming to St. Paul’s to hear the music offerings.
