Learn to Love Yourself This Fall

Description

Learn to Love Yourself This Fall

Wednesdays, starting August 31, ending October 6; 7 to 8 p.m.

Learn how to strengthen your love of God, neighbor, and self through an upcoming series of one-hour classes, guided by the Rev. Christopher H Martin. Each week you are invited to slow down and pay full attention to a short imaginative work by poetic thinker Soren Kierkegaard – “an archangel a little damaged” – whose fascinating life story highlights his lessons in love and compassion.

Pursue the practice of loving yourself through 15 pages of a fascinating essay written by Kierkegaard, which we will read aloud.  The essay is frequently called Purity of Heart is to Will One Thing. The sessions are in-person in Duncan Hall; only the first session will be available on Zoom. Free parking.

The Rev. Martin was educated at Yale University and has published two books through Forward Movement. He has been a priest since 1997 and has served St. Paul’s since 2004.
