The School for Deacons 2024 Retreat

Description

The School for Deacons 2024 Retreat

Join The School for Deacons for its annual retreat at The Bishop’s Ranch Friday evening, April 12 through noon Sunday, April 14. This retreat is a special time for all deacons to be in the community for spiritual refreshment and rich fellowship.

We will register late afternoon on Friday and enjoy dinner on Friday through lunch on Sunday. Our retreat will be led by The Right Rev. Dr. Marc Andrus.  We are blessed to be able to spend this time with our Bishop and ground ourselves in prayer and community.

This year’s retreat is not just for students but is open to any deacon for a time of spiritual refreshment, connecting and networking with other deacons, and ongoing learning in faith. Alumnae of The School for Deacons have priority, but all deacons are welcome as well as board members and faculty.

Friday – We begin with a meal in the Ranch House at 7:00 PM, followed by an evening session and Prayer.

Saturday – All meals will be served in the Refectory with sessions at the Ranch House. There will be free time in the afternoon for reflection, prayer, reading, and walking the many paths at Bishop’s Ranch.  This year we will have an art gallery in the Sun Room of the Ranch House.  You are welcome to bring 2 or 3 pieces of your art to display.  Also, if you have clean vestments in need of simple repairs, please bring them to the Library and those of us who sew will assist in repairing them.  Please be sure to pin your name and the repair needed on each vestment.

Sunday – The morning includes more programs and a closing Eucharist. The retreat ends after lunch.

The cost for the retreat, including all meals is $357.00 for a shared room.  We do not expect single-occupancy rooms to be available.  If finances are an issue, please reach out for scholarship information.

We look forward to a life-giving and restful weekend!
