4th Annual Blue Christmas services at Holy Family, Half Moon Bay and Good Shepherd, Belmont

Saturday, December 17, 2016, 5:00 pm to Sunday, December 18, 2016, 5:00 pm

All are welcome! An emerging tradition often held on or near the longest night of the year, Blue Christmas services acknowledge that the long, dark nights of winter can, for many, be a time of difficult emotions heightened during the holidays. Depression, loss, anxiety, and fear can overwhelm while cultural and social customs (and intense economic pressure) to be “jolly” can be suffocating. If you need to get away from the jingle-jangle and have some space to grieve, find sanctuary from the recent election talk, or just time to breath, come for a simple, contemplative, candle-light service with a gentle rhythm of readings, hymns, prayers, and silence offered to help see beyond the twinkle of tinsel for the light of Christ.

When & Where: Saturday, December 17, 5 p.m. at Holy Family, 1590 S. Cabrillo Highway, Half Moon Bay
