Performance by Korean Master Soo Yeon Lyuh in Support Refugees on the Isle of Lesvos

Friday, May 3, 2019, 7:30 pm

A master of the haegeum, a classical two-stringed Korean bowed instrument, Soo Yeon Lyuh weaves authentic styles into new music domains. She recently made her debut as a composer with San Francisco-based Kronos Quartet. Concert presenters are Interfaith Refugee Welcome, whose members represent more than 20 Bay Area faith organizations dedicated to providing refugee assistance in a variety of ways; and Zion Lutheran Church. Fully 100% of the evening’s donations will go to directly to Sea of Solidarity’s funding of One Happy Family, a community center in Lesvos whose programs include serving a daily hot meal to hundreds of refugees from over 22 countries. A reception follows the concert.

Where: Zion Lutheran Church, 495 9th Ave. (at Anza), San Francisco
Cost: Suggested donation: $15/person; $25/family
