Successful Lenten Food Drive at Resurrection, Pleasant Hill

Every year during Lent, the Church of the Resurrection collects nonperishable food for the Monument Crisis Center. This year the goal was to collect 13 barrels of food which is enough food to feed a family of 4 for 1 year. This past Sunday, our goal was met and during our live stream Sunday service, our Rector, the Reverend Liz Tichenor, blessed the 13 barrels of food which will be delivered to the Monument Crisis Center this week.

We will be leaving a barrel or two at the church so additional donations. We will also be running another food drive during the "Christmas in July" campaign. Historically, food pantries struggle during the summer months. We will also be collecting gently used and new children's books during the July effort and School supplies. The most popular young adult reader books are always appreciated. We will continue to live in the solutions.
